Addiction is possibly the hardest topic you can be doing for Psya4. This is mainly because there is so many possible question variations you have to revise it makes your workload insane. Add to that a stolen AQA van and you have a really tough topic to predict for. I shall do my best however but no angry mobs with pitchforks outside my house please should these be wrong – take these June 2015 Addiction predictions with a pinch of salt! Did I mention I hate addiction?. Breaking this table down we can see all the possible questions this topic has and we then put this into our predictions table to see when each has come up and when.
My Psya4 Addiction Predictions For June 2015

- The biological approach to smoking/gambling: Its not one thats had much focus on. It appeared as a 4 marker yes but with this whole stolen van situation I’m going to go out on a limb and say its going to make an appearance in some form whether its initiation, maintenance of relapse.
- The Cognitive approach to smoking/gambling: Again its one that’s not appeared in a while. Last appeared in June 2012 so its overdue an appearance in some form similar to the one above (be it initiation, maintenance or relapse).
- Media influences on addictive behaviour: Hasn’t appeared in ages (or ever?). I would revise this.
- Biological/Psychological/Public health interventions: All 3 are equally possible in my eyes although biological or psychological probably a bit more likely than public health interventions considering it appeared in June 2013.
Yes there is a lot – but that;s Addiction for you. Those are my Addiction June 2015 predictions and the ones I would give particular focus to.
