AQA A A2 Psychology Psya4 (OCD) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder June 2014 Predictions

On to OCD and my AQA A2 Psychology Psya4 Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) predictions for this June 2014 exam. As always – Revise everything to be safe; don’t base your revision solely on these predictions as you never know ultimately what may come up as these are just my educated guesses.

AQA Psychology Psya4 OCD Possible Questions

Above we have the table showing us what can be asked in the AQA Psychology Psya4 OCD exam – as usual for this section of psya4 the questions are the same across the psychopathology topics regardless of the one you pick. We then need to break this down for the past questions, the pattern in which they came up and when.

My AQA A Psychology Psya4 Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) June 2014 Predictions

Again another uncomfortable one to call – if you notice the blocks in blue they represent questions that have come up consecutively and back to back from one exam to the next. This is quite worrying – You can see a question on psychological therapies for OCD has come up 3 times in a row. If anything this highlights the unpredictability of this topic. If we were to base our judgement on this pattern and if it follows a predictable route there is still one question that hasn’t been asked at all in the last 4 exams.

  • Psychological explanations for OCD – This is the one question that is overdue and hasn’t been asked in any form at all. In theory it should be our front-runner due to this.
  • Biological therapies for OCD – This was last asked in June 2012 and it wasn’t a full essay but split in half for mark attribution. Its the next question that hasn’t appeared recently.
  • Issues surrounding the classification and diagnosis of OCD – My gut is telling me this is possible – why you may wonder when it came up in the last exam? Well It could be that sandwich I had earlier. Or possibly the fact that if questions have come up twice in a row in this topic – its the only other question thats not come up twice or as a full essay yet. So im thinking this could come up in some form – I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the full essay either.

Those are my A level AQA Psychology Psya4 (OCD) Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Predictions – What do you think?
