Just a short update really to announce the new psychology unit 2 AS and A level ebook is finally out for the new specification. If you’re not aware there’s a new AS/A level syllabus that has been introduced from September 2015 with AS changing first with the first exams for AS students doing this new spec in 2016 (May/June time).
If you are a retake student who is retaking exams you sat in 2015 with the old specification then you will get one last chance to do these in the upcoming exam window (2016) before AS is phased out.
For students who are new to psychology and starting from September 2015 across the UK I have released two updated revision ebooks which cover the new specification for all students sitting paper 1 and paper 2 (aka unit 1 and unit 2).
These new ebooks cover everything you need to know if you are both an AS student or if you choose to do the whole A level over the two years for the new specification. Other more expensive textbooks don’t cover everything in essay form like mine and only provide the first years worth of resources (not year 2 A level information for units 1 and 2). Mine cover everything so are pretty complete for a much smaller fee.
The topics covered in this unit 2 ebook are:
- Approaches in psychology
Within these 3 topics you have subtopics you need to learn; this unit 2 ebook covers every single possible topic with theory (ao1) and evaluation (ao3) in immense detail for you to source information from. One thing to be aware of is you may get asked “application based” questions which are ao2 – for these you need to apply your knowledge to examples and because the examples can be literally anything, I can’t help you with that; but they will always be based on the information/knowledge my resources give you for all the topics. So in short; you will get scenario and application based questions based on this information I have within these ebooks and you just need to adapt the information to the scenarios themselves to score ao2. It’s not that hard really as you grasp the theories and concepts themselves.
Research methods does not come up as an essay so is not covered – instead I will post free resources here on Loopa for all students with that topic covered completely.
If you have any questions, you can hit me up on Facebook, email me or tweet me and I’ll do my best to answer. One request I do have is please first try find the answer yourself before contacting me; If I had a penny for every time a student asked a question that a quick google check could answer then I would be in the bahama’s sipping on a pina colada – unfortunately I don’t get a penny for every time a lazy question is asked so I tend to ignore them.
I do try my best to answer all queries but seriously – asking “Saj help me revise psychology” in such a generic way doesn’t help your case – be specific on what you need help with!
