PSYA3 Eating Behaviours June 2016 Predictions For PSYA3
As promised – If we got over 60 likes I would post my June 2016 Eating behaviour predictions for PSYA3 and here they are! :)
Eating behaviour is a popular third topic in PYSA3 and along with Gender is one of the most demanded based on the emails I’ve received. As always don’t rely on these predictions completely – only a fool would do that or someone that has left revision so last minute that they are praying these come through (I’m sure you are not like that though right?). Fortunately I tend to have a fairly good track record at A2 for the last few years so im hoping that continues for this topic too – Again if I get these wrong no angry tweets or emails please but hey if I get these right let me know – my ego needs a boost :)

This is slightly tricky considering the way past questions have come up but some appear to be more overdue than others. I can narrow this down by halve I think at least in terms of the essays I would focus on.
- Attitudes to food and eating behaviour – It’s been 3 exam windows and has appeared as a full essay back in January 2013. It is in theory quite possible for it to make an appearance therefore and is my second favourite to appear after the one just below.
- Neural mechanisms in eating behaviour – According to my table, it is the most overdue question overall not making a single appearance since January 2012. It is therefore my front-runner and the one I would focus the most amount of attention on as it’s been 5 exam windows since it appeared in any form. You will be a fool not to prepare for this going into the exam.
- Biological explanations for anorexia nervosa/biological explanations for bullimia nervosa: A 4 marker appeared on psychological explanations of eating disorders and I think we need to consider the fact that either a similar question or a full essay is possible for biological explanations of an eating disorder. This is my third choice essay I would also prep for.
- If AQA wanted to be awkward: If AQA decide to be awkward then psychological explanations of an eating disorder will come up. A 4 marker did appear in the last exam window which is why it should in theory be less likely but this is what they will throw up if they really want to be a pain in the ass. I would definitely prep the 3 I’ve mentioned above but if you can fit it in – I would prep for psychological explanations for anorexia nervosa/bullimia nervosa dependent on which one you’ve chosen to study. This is my backup but the top 3 definitely need prepping for.
