OCD June 2016 AQA Psychology Predictions
For my OCD predictions for June 2016 for PSYA4 and for every other prediction I do I think I’m going to put a disclaimer which reads “revise everything – not just the predictions”.
To clarify I highlight a handful of possibilities and just because I name a frontrunner – doesn’t mean that should be the only one you expect – Either one of the ones I’ve highlighted (or not even highlighted) can come up. The reason I highlight a few for you is so you can narrow down your revision in terms of what you should be revising and prioritising the most and the order and this is based on (my opinion firstly) and how often something has appeared. Expecting just my front-runner is suicide and you really are nuts for doing that.
Thankfully most the Loopa followers seem to know better.
June 2016 OCD predictions are a little complicated this year..
Last year the PSYA4 exam paper was stolen and a replacement was sent out – some students sat the original PSYA4 paper which was stolen if the replacement couldn’t reach them in time and some sat the replacement paper. So we had two versions of PSYA4 sat last year and that makes predictions either easier or much harder – I have no idea which. The reason I say It may make them easier is we can write off two sets of questions now for one year assuming AQA does not repeat them. It makes them harder because AQA are a pain in the ass (as all the gender students know) and probably will repeat some stuff if they want to mess with us – we just don’t know what.
So all the PSYA4 predictions will either be a hit or a miss and ideally you need to be learning everything just to play it safe – that’s my warning done and dusted.
My OCD Predictions June 2016
I feel reasonably ok about these predictions as the way they have been spread out makes it easy to narrow down a few I would give the most focus on. Like I said above – revise everything just to be safe but heres there ones I would focus on the most – first however, my predictions table for OCD June 2016:

They order is as follows:
- Issues surrounding the classification and diagnosis of OCD – This hasn’t appeared in 2 exam windows and when it did, it was only a 12 marker. Prior to that it has never appeared as a full essay. I would definitely know this one going in and it is my frontrunner.
- Psychological explanations of OCD – Yes I know it appeared in the replacement paper but prior to that it has never appeared. I’m going to go out on a limb and say this one is a possibility too in my eyes.
Now we have a problem – We have two third choice essays equally possible – they are:
- Psychological therapies of OCD – This one is quite possible as although it’s been only 1 exam window since it appeared, it was only a 12 marker. Prior to that it came up as a full essay in January 2013 so…I’m going to go with my gut on this and name this as one of my third choice possibilities.
If AQA wanted to throw a curveball…it would be..
- Biological explanations of OCD – Technically this shouldn’t come up but if AQA wanted to throw us a curveball – I think this would probably be it – why? Well its been used 3 times out of the last 5 exam windows however they were only 12 markers and never full essays. If they wanted to be really annoying they would give us a full essay on it now instead. I can’t really tell you which I would focus on more between this and psychological therapies as I think in their own ways they are both overdue and equally likely as full essays. Therefore these two I would give equal focus on.
This is the order in which I would prep for my essays personally. Normally I try narrow it down to the 3 most likely but unfortunately I can’t because of the layout of the past questions never being full essays on many occasions. Therefore I would go in knowing these 4 the most in the order outlined above.
So those are my thoughts and the order in which I would revise my essays – what do you think?
