Phobic Disorders Predictions – June 2015 Psya4
The last set of psychopathology predictions for Psya4 for June 2015 is Phobic Disorders. Again – If you’re not already aware of what’s happened in the last few days, the van containing the psya4 exam paper was stolen resulting in AQA re-writing the exam paper last minute. So were in a predicament as there’s a chance that AQA will randomise the exam paper making my predictions a little tough to call but I shall put my neck on the line like I do every year and attempt to give you some predictions. Obviously learn everything – it goes without saying.
Phobic Disorders June 2015 Overview
The phobic disorders topic follows the same pattern as all the other psychopathology topics and therefore there is only a set pattern of questions which can be asked on it. The table above breaks this down for you with the bullet points showing you all the possible questions you can be asked for phobic disorders (and all the other topics in section A). We take this information and then plot it into our predictions table for phobic disorders to try and predict the likely questions for June 2015.
Phobic Disorders June 2015 PredictionsOk we have a problem here. This one has about 4 questions all equally likely in my eyes. There is a couple I would personally focus more on but based on the information here they are all fair game to make an appearance. Never the less my gut tells me the following are the ones I would focus more attention on:
- Issues surrounding classification/diagnosis: Only appeared as a 4+8 marker in June 2013. Has never been a full essay before this.
- Clinical Characteristics of Phobic Disorders: Has never appeared, a small question ranging from 4-6 marks is long overdue.
- Biological/Psychological therapies. Both equally possible but they may specify this time as previous questions have always been broad allowing you to write about either. A specific one is overdue.
The spread of questions and how they have appeared (and when) makes predicting phobic disorders really hard. You can argue psychological explanations also has an equal chance of appearing and the only reason I didn’t also say that is because it made at least one big essay appearance already in June 2012 – but in my eyes I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose that again as it has only appeared as a 4+8 marker since.
These are my thoughts never the less, I hope it helps.
