New 2nd Edition Psya4 Schizophrenia Model Essay Answers

I’ve had a lot of emails from retake students requesting the schizophrenia predictions for students studying the old psychology specification (retakes) so I thought I would do a quick post for them here. These predictions are not for the new specification and unit 3 schizophrenia topic so please don’t confuse them with that. I’m considering doing a separate post for the new spec unit 3 topics at some later point. These predictions are for retake students sitting the PSYA4 exam in 2017.

Firstly if you are studying Schizophrenia as one of your chosen topics you can get model essay answers for it by clicking the image on the right. This covers all the possible essay questions you can be asked in the exam and is the very same essays myself and thousands of other AQA psychology students have been using to score A-A* grades for this exam paper. There is only a limited number of essay questions that can be asked and this topic is actually pretty easy once you master these set essays.

This ebook on the right will help you and is an instant download so there is no waiting for it to arrive – start revising straight away.

Also a short disclaimer on relying on predictions; If you rely solely on predictions then this is a recipe for disaster. You need to revise everything always and the point of my predictions is just to help you focus your attention a bit more on what is overdue an appearance. I may have a good track record for the most part but its not an exact science so always listen to your teachers and learn everything just to be safe. Right, with that out the way let’s get into the predictions themselves.

AQA Psychology Schizophrenia June PSYA4 2017 Predictions

So last year in the June 2016 exam we had biological explanations of schizophrenia come up as a full essay. This was a major curveball as it had also come up as a 20 marker the year prior when there was an issue with stolen exam papers and two versions of PSYA4 being sat across the country. This made my predictions really hard trying to predict what can come up when two separate versions of the same paper were being sat.

Having said that this now probably makes thing a little easier for me for this particular 2017 exam window as there are 3 main topics I would be focusing most of my efforts on above all else.

  • Issues surrounding the classification and diagnosis of schizophrenia (including reliability and validity) – This hasn’t appeared as a full essay since January 2012 so in my eyes it is really overdue an appearance now. It did come up as a 4 marker in the replacement paper but this in my eyes is negligible.
  • Psychological therapies for schizophrenia – This hasn’t appeared as a dedicated question…ever. It has been given the chance to appear as part of a broad question in January 2013 and June 2012 but it’s never been focused on alone. Therefore I would most certainly prepare this one just in case and its my second favourite that is likely to make an appearance.
  • Psychological explanations of schizophrenia – Its been 2 exam windows however on the balance of probability its possible hence it is my third most likely question.

So these 3 are in my eyes the ones I would focus most of my attention on. I have ordered them from most likely in my opinion to less likely but these 3 are the ones that stick out for me personally.

I hope this helps – if it does be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel which I’m hoping to grow further and drop me a comment below if you have any questions too!
